The English Association of Male Voice Choirs was formed in 1982 and performed its first concert that year in Cheltenham Town Hall. The choirs taking part in that concert were those of Bream, Drybrook, Dursley, Filton, Hereford Police, Malvern, Churchdown and Cotswold. Churchdown is the only choir still left in the association from the early days.
On Saturday June 4,2011 the male voice choirs of Birmingham Icknield, Churchdown, Cradley Heath, Forest of Dean, Gentlemen Songsters, Solihull and Warley were the guests of Worcester Male Voice Choir in a concert in Worcester Cathedral.
